As a couple perpetually on the hunt for a decent local chippy after our fave spot in Richmond closed down, Fish Bar Kingston didn’t disappoint; we were met with friendly service complete with a smile, delicious, fresh food, hefty portion sizes and unbeatable value. Needless to say this ticked our proverbial boxes. We’ve been back twice in 2 weeks and can confidently say it’s made its way into our Fish Friday repertoire, and was the perfect accompaniment to watching the Summer Solstice sunset. 10/10 recommend, and we’ll see you again next week!
Recently went and tasted a few items as place is under new ownership. Tried monkfish, tuna, salmon, calamari.. And it was great. They are now stocking with fresh fish.. so its really quite a bit better than the old place (and most normal chippies). The calamari was amazing... not rubbery, dry flavourless like usual frozen. We'll be going back..it was great
Our new “go to” place for fish & chips in Kingston - Fish Bar is back and the experienced new owners are nailing it - this is a cracking traditional chippy, and I’m a fussy Yorkshireman! We always get their delicious fresh haddock & chips, home made tartar sauce and kids cod goujon meals for our kids, the portions are great, the food fresh and tasty and the pricing is significantly fairer than any of the local competitors - it’s made fish & chip Fridays affordable for us again (I hope their success won’t change that bit!). The ladies working in there are always lovely, welcoming and always take time to chat to my little girls. They are community minded too, running a Halloween event on Fri 31 Oct 25 etc. Try Fish Bar, you will won over!
without a doubt the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! And the homemade tartare sauce is unreal! John the owner is also so friendly and fun to chat to - cannot recommend enough!
The real deal, been wishing for a proper fish and chip shop for ages since the Q bar in richmond closed. ALL the other local shops serve frozen or bought in chips which are dry and nasty. Fish Bar chips are proper as is the fish cooked perfectly with crispy batter. I knew I'd found my go to chippy when after chatting with the owner it turns out he used to run the Q bar years ago and has another successful chippy in Teddington. Friendly service and good banter while you wait for fresh cooked perfection. Don't miss out on THE best fish and chips locally.
Fantastic Fish and Chips! Had the haddock and chips and it was delicious. The mushy peas were perfect but the home made tartare sauce really set the dish off. I could eat heaps. Very nice service too - 5 stars
